Syncsort, a global leader in high-performance data processing, data integration and data protection and recovery software, today formally launched a Federal Division. Capitalizing on successful partnerships and the U.S. Government’s need to increase operational efficiency and manage growing volumes of data, the division will expand relationships with Federal agencies and the contractors and systems integrators that serve them. The Syncsort Federal Division is based in Fairfax, Va., and is headed by William Q. Smith, an experienced executive in the government market.
Syncsort solutions enable Federal agencies to protect and manage the data at the heart of their organizations through high performance information integration and protection while realizing cost savings and productivity gains in existing technology investments. With a focus on emerging solutions including virtualization and application modernization, Syncsort, already a player in the Federal space, has been on the GSA schedule for more than 20 years. Their new Federal Division expects to accelerate their presence in the space and approach the Federal marketplace more strategically with dedicated management, sales organization and operations.
Successfully deployed at more than 60 government agencies, Syncsort provides data integration and protection solutions for the U.S. Census Bureau, Department of Justice, US Center for Medicare and Medicaid, Department of Agriculture, Environmental Protection Agency, Internal Revenue Service, Federal Reserve Board, Department of Health & Human Services, Department of Veteran Affairs, Defense Logistics Agency, The U.S. Army, The U.S. Navy, The U.S, Marines, The U.S. Air Force, and several intelligence agencies. In addition, Syncsort has reseller or partnership agreements with General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, SAIC, and others.
“The Syncsort technology platform is designed to integrate and protect massive volumes of complex, multiple data types and sources,” said Josh Rogers, Vice President of Field Sales, Americas. “This is precisely the solution Federal agencies require to assist in delivering on intra- and interagency data-centric programs. Being able to process larger data sets and recover data in seconds, in the most demanding environments, enables Federal agencies to fully utilize their current hardware environments with low impact to CPU usage and network traffic. Syncsort brings an unprecedented level of data performance to the Federal space.”
With nearly twenty years of technology experience, William Smith will lead Syncsort’s Federal government sales initiatives and be responsible for increasing revenue, leading the sales team and working with the Syncsort Federal partner community. Smith is building a dedicated team of business development, alliance management and service professionals with deep public sector expertise. Prior to joining Syncsort, Smith held various sales management positions with leading technology companies including IBM, MicroStrategy, and Ascential Software’s Federal Business Unit.
