News Facts
- Syncsort, a global leader in data integration acceleration and data protection software solutions, today announced that Judge William H. Walls of the United States District Court of New Jersey has ruled in Syncsort’s favor in the company’s lawsuit against Innovative Routines International, Inc.
- In the case of Syncsort Incorporated v. Innovative Routines International, Inc. (known as “IRI”), Judge Walls found that IRI misappropriated Syncsort’s proprietary trade secrets and engaged in unfair competition through its use of Syncsort’s reference guide and licensee’s job control scripts to translate scripts written in Syncsort’s command language into the CoSort command language.
- The Court granted Syncsort’s request for a permanent injunction, ordering that IRI must stop using, marketing, selling or distributing the “ssu2scl” and “rescript” software utilities, or any other software that includes the capabilities of interpreting, parsing or translating job control scripts that are in Syncsort’s command language.
- The Court also ordered that IRI, and all persons in active concert or participation with the company, destroy all copies of these two programs as well as all source code and related documentation.
- IRI is prohibited from soliciting and accepting copies of job control scripts from Syncsort clients.
